Book of Remembrance entry
M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Volunteering in 1916, Enlisting 15th March, 1917, and sailing in May, went into the Line after being six months at Codford and was attached to 15th Cheshire Battn. in the Albert sector, being slightly gassed at Bouzincourt and evacuated to No. 8 General Hospital. Transferred shortly after to No. 1 A.G.H., Rouen, thence to 7th Australian Field Ambulance, being R.M.O. 25th Battn. at the crossing of Hindenburg Line and in Estrees-Falenprise sector and later R.M.O. 6th Artillery Brigade, reaching Proyart at the Armistice. Was M.O. Australian Railway Coys, at Havre and Codford prior to return for demobilisation. Medical Superintendent, Rosemount Repatriation Hospital. R.A.N.R. : Surgeon-Lieutenant-Commander, 1930. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
