B.E. : Engineer-Lieutenant-Commander, R.A.N. Joining R.A.N. as engineer-sub-lieutenant, 16th April, 1912, served at the outbreak of War on H.M.A.S. Australia at Samoa, New Guinea, and in North Sea during 1915-16. Transferring to Parramatta 16th November, was in Mediterranean for the remainder of the War. Mentioned in the Official History of R.A.N. for services with destroyer flotilla in Mediterranean. Early education at St. Ignatius'' College.
