Left Victoria 19.7.15 and enlisted in England 17.9.15 with R.F.C.; Brooklands Flying School 14.10.15; 2/Lt. 7.11.15; France 10.2.16; promoted Capt. and Flight Commander; recalled to England for instructional work December 1916; returned to France December 1917; temp. transf. to A.F.C., and in charge of a flight; again instructing in England February 1918; returned to France in July as Major, in charge of a squadron of scouts.
While leading a patrol above St. Quentin on 4th October 1918, another machine flew into his, and he was killed. He was mentioned in Despatches 8.11.18.
