Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Gunner, 14th Light Trench Mortar Battery, A.I.F., France. Enlisting 18th September, 1916, and sailing 19th December, served with Artillery, but transferred to above unit on reaching France, remaining with it till twice severely wounded at Polygon Wood 26th September, 1917, and returned to Australia 1st June, 1918, after six months in hospital, being discharged in November. Early education at Newington College.
