B.E., Demonstrator in Engineering: Lieutenant, R.F.A., Egypt, Salonika and Palestine. Enlisting in London in April, 1916, served in Egypt from November till early in 1917, then on Struma Front with C Battery, 67th Brigade, 10th Irish Division. Returning to Palestine, was at 3rd Battle of Gaza and slightly wounded near Jerusalem 27th December, 1917, remaining with Division until demobilisation and then returning to Australia. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Barker College. Later at St. Paul's.
