B.E., Assoc.M.Inst.C.E., M.I.E.Aust. : Lieutenant, 1st Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting in January, 1916, after being Assistant Censor in New South Wales from October, 1914, to December, 1915, and sailing 11th July as lieutenant, Engineer reinforcements, joined 1st Field Coy. in France. Served until shell shocked at Longueval, Somme, 23rd December, when evacuated to hospital and thence to Australia, arriving 8th July, 1917, and being demobilised in December. Then resumed duty as Assistant Censor until 29th October, 1919. A.M.F. : Australian Intelligence Corps. Officer of Works, University of Sydney. Hon. Electrical Engineer, S.U. War Memorial Carillon. Peter Nicol Russell Scholar. Early education at Fort St. High School.
