B.Ec., F.A.A., F.I.I.S., A.C.I.S. (Eng.) : Corporal, 35th Battn., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 29th December, 1915, and sailing 1st May, 1916, joined battn. on formation and, crossing to France 20th November, was invalided 31st December from Armentieres to No. 2 Southern General Hospital, England. Rejoining unit on recovery, just before Messines, remained with it until 19th December, 1918, when transferred to H.Q., London, prior to demobilisation. Early education at Brighton Grammar School. Later at London School of Economics and Ruskin College, Oxford.
