After his return to Australia, B W Wibberley took a refresher course at the Adelaide Hospital, became a Justice of the Peace in 1921 and took up a medical practice at Tumby Bay where he remained for 37 years. He became a significant member of the local community.
In 1943 he joined the 5th Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps and remained with them until his discharge in 1945.
Even after official retirement he continued to work for the Red Cross Blood Bank and as a School Medical Officer for the Education Department. He also undertook locums for his son, also a General Practitioner in the Tumby Bay area.
