M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in September, 1915, and sailing in December a few weeks after being S.M.O. Recruiting Camp, Sydney Show Ground, until November, 1916, was a few weeks at Harefield Hospital. Joining 4th Australian Field Ambulance in France in June, 1917, became R.M.O. 4th Divisional Ammunition Column in August and served with it till May, 1918. After a short time at No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, was at No. 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station at Tournai and elsewhere till the Armistice, being demobilised in London in January, 1919, and returning via America in August. Visiting Surgeon, Randwick Military Hospital, 1919-25. Early education at Newington College. Later at St. Andrew's and Christ's, Cambridge (Research).
