Econ. : Private, 19th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 25th March, 1916, and sailing 22nd September, joined battn. in France and served at the Somme, Hindenburg Line and as signaller at Bullecourt, where wounded 3rd May, 1917, and evacuated to hospital and thence to Australia, arriving 20th November. Early education at The School, Mt. Victoria. Later at Teachers' College.
