Book of Remembrance entry
Attendant: Private, 4th and 63rd Battns., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 30th August, 1915, and sailing 3rd February, 1916, crossed from Egypt to France in June and fought with 4th Battn. till wounded at Pozieres 25th July, while carrying despatches, and evacuated to hospital at Birmingham. On recovery was with 63rd Battn. for four months and then, rejoining 4th on the Somme, remained with it till demobilisation. Wounded at Broodseinde Ridge 4th October, 1917, and invalided to England and for a third time at Strazeele 9th July, 1918, when evacuated to American Hospital at Boulogne. Education at Kingham Hill School, Oxfordshire.
