Book of Remembrance entry

Arts : Corporal, 33rd Battn., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting 1st October, 1916, and sailing 25th November, arrived in England 30th January, 1917, and, after training, acted as private secretary to General Paton at Lark Hill with 17th Brigade (New Division), and later attended various Tidworth schools. Joined battn. at Warneton in February, 1918, serving with it till gassed at Villers- Bretonneux 1 8th April and evacuated to hospital for nine months and then to Australia, being discharged in November, 1919. Early education at Cleveland St. Intermediate High School.
