Eng : Private, 1st Machine Gun Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 25th January, 1916, and sailing 1st May, served in France from January, 1917, to July, 1918, at Bullecourt, Ypres, Hazebrouck and elsewhere, being wounded at Broodseinde Ridge 4th October, 1917, and returning to Australia 8th November, 1918. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
