Enlisting 8th February, 1916, and sailing 20th May, served from 3rd September with Nos. 3 and 1 Australian General Hospitals at Abbeville and Rouen and n th Australian Field Ambulance, with 12th A.F.Amb. from 25th January, 1917, at A.I.F. Depots in United Kingdom from 27th February, 1917, to January, 1919, and until demobilisation. Promoted major, n th November, 1918. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
