Book of Remembrance entry
M.B. : Lieutenant, 41st Battn., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting 26th June, 1916, and sailing 23rd January, 1917, with 9th Reinforcements 49th Battn., acted as Anti-Gas Instructor at Codford prior to crossing to France 17th November and transferring to 41st Battn. There was Company Gas-N.C.O. for some months, participating in Somme actions from April to September, 1918, when sent to No. 5 Officers Cadet Battn., serving until demobilisation. Promoted second-lieutenant, 6th January, 1919. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School. Later at Wesley College.
