6.3.16; after six months' training in A.A.M.C. transferred to infantry, and sailed on 2.10.16 as Pte. 22nd Btn.; to France 6.2.17; appendicitis September 1917; invalided to England; back to France January 1918, but his health was broken, and he was ordered back to Australia; before he could sail he died in Weymouth Hospital on 9th August 1918.
