M.B., Ch.M. : Private, 20th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 18th March, 1915, and sailing 26th June, was at Gallipoli from August until the Evacuation. Crossing to France, fought at Fleurbaix, the Somme and all battn. engagements until wounded in Ypres sector 20th September, 1917. On recovery rejoined battn., was gassed in January, 1918, but served until demobilisation. Early education at Fort St. High School. Later one year in Arts.
