Enlisting 21st April, 1916, and sailing 3rd May, served at the Somme, Passchendaele, Messines, Strazeele, Hazebrouck, the Great 1918 Advance and until demobilisation, though wounded at Ligny- Thilloy, near Bapaume, 24th March, 1917, and again at Ypres. Early education at St. Stanislaus' College, Bathurst.
