M.B., Ch.M. : Lieutenant, 1st Divisional Artillery, A.I.F., France. Enlisting 17th February, 1917, and sailing 5th November as acting sergeant, crossed to France 13th March, 1918, and served till demobilisation, being sent to Officers Training School, St. John's Wood, about September. Promoted second-lieutenant, 3rd January, 1919, and lieutenant, 3rd April. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
