B.A., Law II : Lieutenant, 3rd Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Volunteering at the outbreak of War, was commissioned in 3rd Battn. 14th September, 1914, took part in the Anzac Landing 25th April, 1915, was promoted lieutenant for services there and served till death. Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action, MacLaurin's Hill, 19th May, 1915, in a hand to hand encounter, while in command of a coy. during a fierce attack by the Turks in great numbers, and buried in 4th Battn. Parade Ground Cemetery, Anzac. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College. Among the names of those who should not be forgotten in his (General Walker's) command, the one that had been most distinguished was that of Lieutenant L. W. Street.
