Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Chaplain, Royal Army Chaplains Department, B.E.F., France. Enlisting early in 1915, was chaplain in charge of 2,000 wounded men at Boulogne and a few months later sent to H.Q. in Flanders and thence to the trenches, serving till death. Killed in Action by a shell, Bethune sector, 2nd January, 1916, while conducting a funeral for his Senior Chaplain, and buried in Bethune Town Cemetery. President, Sydney University Christian Union, 1902. C.M.S. Missionary in China. Member of Moore College.
