Book of Remembrance entry
B.E. : Lieutenant, R.F.C., B.E.F., France, also A.F.C., A.I.F., England. Enlisting 23rd December, 1916, as second-lieutenant from Central Flying School, Laverton, and sailing 17th January, 1917, graduated as pilot in England 20th June and served with 29th Squadron R.F.C. in France until injured in an aeroplane crash near Ypres in August and evacuated to England. After convalescence was transferred to 6th Training Squadron, A.F.C. and, returning 1st October, 1918, was demobilised medically unfit, 1st March, 1919. Promoted lieutenant, 20th September, 1917. Early education at Fort St. High School.
