Enlisting in June, 1915, and sailing in September, served with battn. until early in 1917, when transferred from Active List as Y.M.C.A. Officer with troops until the end of 1918, returning as Sports Officer on troopship Bremen Gazetted hon. lieutenant in May, 1918. Early education at City of London School. Later at St. Andrew's College
