D.S.O., M.D., Ch.M.; M.S. (Adel.) : Lieutenant-Colonel, 4th Brigade, A.F.A., and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 20th October, 1915, and sailing in November as major and O.C. 13th Battery, crossed from Egypt to France in March, 1916. Served at Fleurbaix, Pozieres, Ypres, Flers, Bullecourt, Ypres III and Messines Ridge, being promoted lieutenant-colonel and to command 4th Artillery Brigade 17th April, 1917. Transferred to A.A.M.C. at No. 3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, and was demobilised in U.K. 4th January, 1920, after six months' non-military employment. Awarded D.S.O. 1st January, 1918, and Mentioned in Despatches twice. Research Professor in Anatomy, 1937-. Renwick Scholar. Rockefeller Fellow, 1920-21. Professor of Anatomy, University of Hong Kong, 1923-36. Early education at King's College, Goulburn.
