Book of Remembrance entry
Econ. : Sergeant, 2nd Divisional Signal Coy. and 17th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Enlisting 16th June, 1915, and sailing 9th August with 3rd Reinforcements 16th Battn., joined battn. at Quinn's Post at the end of September and was on garrison duty in Sinai from January to March, 1916. Then fought in France till gassed at Pozieres 29th July and, rejoining battn. in April, 1917, transferred in April, 1918, to Divisional Artillery H.Q. as signaller, serving until demobilisation. Promoted temporary sergeant under A.I.F. Education Scheme. Member of Teachers' College.
