Book of Remembrance entry

B.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Lieutenant, 1st Australian Tunnelling Coy., A.I.F., France. Enlisting early in 1915 and sailing 22nd May, 1916, as lieutenant in No. 3 Coy., was absorbed into No. 1 on arrival in France. Chosen to assist in the blowing up of Hill 60 in May, 1917, was afterwards congratulated by the Army Commander. Transferred in February, 1918, as second in command of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Mining and Boring Coy., serving until demobilisation. Mentioned in Despatches. Member S.U. Scouts. Senior Demonstrator, Peter Nicol Russell School of Engineering. Early education at King's College, Goulburn.
