B.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Lieutenant, 15th Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting 8th December, 1915, and sailing 10th April, 1916, arrived in France via Egypt 14th June and served with coy. till wounded near Flers 5th November, returning to Australia 15th May, 1917. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
