M.B., F.R.A.C.S. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting in September, 1914, and sailing on 14th November with No. 2 Australian General Hospital, served with it in Egypt. Joining 6th Australian Field Ambulance in 1916, crossed to France and remained with it until 1918, when appointed R.M.O. 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, returning with first 1914 Leave men in November. Promoted major, 14th November, 1916. Early education at King's College, Goulburn, and Fort St. High School. Later at St. Paul's College with two years in Arts.
