Book of Remembrance entry
Laboratory Assistant, Old Medical School: Private, 45th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 9th November, 1915, and sailing 16th March, 1916, with A.L.H. Field Ambulance reinforcements, transferred to A.A.M.C. details and joined 45th Battn. reinforcements at Codford, where schooled in Lewis gunnery. Joining battn. in France 4th December, served as Lewis gunner till wounded at Flers and evacuated to England in February, 1917, returning to Australia 22nd October.
