Book of Remembrance entry

Med. II : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 23rd August, 1915, and sailing 1st May, 1916, with 9th Australian Field Ambulance, arrived at Armentieres in November and served continuously through Messines, Warneton, Ypres and Passchendaele as a stretcher-bearer until wounded at Villers- Bretonneux 4th April, 1918. After seven months in Canadian Hospital, Taplow, Dartford Hospital and camps in England, returned to France just before the Armistice and served until demobilisation. Early education at Port Macquarie Superior Public and Fort St. High Schools.
