Book of Remembrance entry
M.A. : Lieutenant, 36th and 34th Battns., A.I.F., France. Being commissioned second lieutenant 25th May, 1916, from Duntroon O.T. School and sailing 25th November in charge of 36th Battn. reinforcements, reached France in August, 1917. Served at Broodseinde Ridge, Passchendaele and elsewhere until severely gassed at Villers-Bretonneux 18th April, 1918, and evacuated to hospitals at Rouen and Wandsworth and to Australia, arriving 25th October, appointment terminating 2nd June, 1919. A.M.F. : Senior Cadets Officer. Lithgow Scholar.
