Book of Remembrance entry

M.B. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting 16th December, 1914, and sailing on 23rd, served in New Guinea until May, 1916, and then with No. 6 Australian General Hospital, Brisbane. Re-enlisting 17th May and sailing in October, went to Parkhouse and, crossing to France, was R.M.O. 52nd Battn. and with 4th Australian Field Ambulance until gassed at Ypres in October, 1917. Invalided to Australia in March, 1918, re-embarked after convalescence but returned from N.Z. at the Armistice. Early education at Fort St. Model and Sydney Grammar Schools.
