Book of Remembrance entry
Diploma in Economics and Commerce : Driver, 1st Divisional Train, A.A.S.C., and 4th Pioneer Battn., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 4th June, 1915, and sailing 30th September, served in Senussi Campaign with H.Q. at Solleum from 9th December to 14th February, 1916. Then transferring to 4th Pioneers on formation at Serapeum for first line transport and crossing to France in June, was injured near Armentieres n th July and evacuated on 16th to hospitals in England and Australia, arriving 2nd August, 1918.
