Enlisting 13th December, 1915, and sailing 17th May, 1916, as sergeant with original 41st Battn., served, except for sickness, till wounded at Hamel 8th August, 1918. On recovery rejoined battn., returning 1st January, 1920. Promoted second-lieutenant, 1st November, 1917; lieutenant, April, 1918. Member of Queensland University.
