Book of Remembrance entry

B.A., LL.B. : Lieutenant, 18th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 1st April, 1916, and sailing 7th October, joined battn. in France 13th May, 1917, and served at the Somme, Bullecourt and Ypres till invalided to hospital 23rd August. Returning to battn. 24th October, was sent to Officers Cadet Battn., Cambridge, 7th December, and commissioned 1st June, 1918. Rejoining battn. on 26th, fought at Villers-Bretonneux, Morlancourt and elsewhere till wounded at Joncourt 3rd October, but, returning to battn., 6th December served until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 1st September, 1918. Early education at Kogarah Superior Public and Sydney High Schools.
