Book of Remembrance entry
Vet. Sci. I : Lieutenant, 1st Battn., A.I.F., France; also 7th Battn., Royal Munster Fusiliers, Salonika. Enlisting 28th August, 1914, in 1st Battn., was selected in Egypt to attend Zeitoun School and commissioned to 7th Battn. Royal Munster Fusiliers 19th April, 1915. Was appointed machine-gun officer, proceeded to Serbia and took part in the Retreat. Mentioned in Despatches. Being transferred by War Office to A.I.F., rejoined 1st Battn. as second-lieutenant on the Somme 19th September, 1916, and served till death. Killed in Action, Flers, 5th November, 1916
