Enlisting 15th January, 1916, straight from school, and sailing 29th July with 4th Reinforcements 22nd Howitzer Brigade, joined 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column 9th March, 1917, and 104th Battery 2nd April, serving continuously until demobilisation. Early education at Bathurst High School.
