Book of Remembrance entry
M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt; also Surgeon Mercantile Marine. Enlisting in October, 1915, and sailing 21st December, served with No. 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital in 1916, returning on hospital ship Karoola 29th June. Then was with British Merchant Marine, 1917-19, during which period attached for six months to American Army while conveying their troops to France and England. Member of S.U. Scouts, 1914. Early education at North Sydney Superior Public School. Later at St. Andrew's College.
