M.S.M., Med. I I : Staff-Sergeant, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 27th August, 1915, and sailing 2nd May, 1916, served continuously with 9th Australian Field Ambulance from 23rd November till demobilisation, at Tyneside, Houplines, Messines, 1st and 2nd Battles of Ypres and Villers-Bretonneux to the Hindenburg Line. Promoted sergeant, 7th August, 1916; staff-sergeant, 1st February, 1919.Early education at St. Joseph's College.
