Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Captain, 20th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 9th June, 1915, and sailing 17th December, crossed to France and joined an entrenching battn. in the Fleurbaix sector. Transferring to 20th on 29th July, 1916, served at Pozieres, Somme, Bullecourt, Ypres and elsewhere, being wounded at Pozieres 4th August, 1916, and at Lagnicourt, 15th April, 1917. On 26th March, 1918, became 5th Brigade Gas Officer, and on 8th May 2nd Divisional Gas Officer, holding that position until the Armistice. Then was 2nd Division Education Officer until promoted Assistant Director of Education, A.I.F. Depots in United Kingdom, in January, 1919, remaining there until 29th January, 1920, and returning 8th March. Mentioned in Despatches. Member of Teachers' College.
