Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Sergeant, 45th Battn., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 27th August, 1915, and sailing 15th January, 1916, joined battn. on formation in Egypt and, crossing to France in June, fought at Pozieres, Bullecourt, Messines and Ypres till wounded at Passchendaele 20th October and evacuated to England. On recovery was gas instructor in England till June, 1918, then, returning to battn. served until demobilisation. Early education at Sydney High School.
