M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, France and England. Enlisting in December, 1915, and sailing 16th March, 1916, served with 13th Australian Field Ambulance at Tele-l-Kebir and Serapeum from April to July. Then crossing to France, was with i t . at Armentieres, Somme and Ypres till December and R.M.O. n th Field Artillery Brigade at Flers, Bapaume, Bullecourt, Messines, Ypres and Passchendaele till invalided in November, 1917. Was S.M.O. at Codford from January to July, 1918, O.C. Group C Hospital, Hurdcott, till March, 1919, and on non-military employment in London hospitals till June. On return served at Randwick Military Hospital, promoted temporary major in January, 1921, and demobilised 3rd June when transferred to Repatriation Commission. Mentioned in Despatches.Early education at Toowoomba Grammar School.
