Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M.: Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting in November, 1916, and sailing 23rd June, 1917, served at Weymouth and Salisbury Plain, with Base Hospital, 5th and 6th Australian Field Ambulances and a British Casualty Clearing Station. Returning to 6th A.F.Amb. 4th April, 1918, was gassed at Morritt Wood, Somme, 30th May and again at Hamel, whence evacuated to England and Australia, arriving in February, 1919, being torpedoed on hospital ship Wandilla while crossing the Channel 3rd August. Early education at Sydney High School.
