B.E. : Captain, R.E., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England, was gazetted 24th November, 1914, and, crossing to France, was attached 28th Infantry Brigade and served until the Armistice. Promoted lieutenant, 25th October, 1915; captain, 26th March, 1917. Mentioned in Despatches.
