31.7.15; sailed with 13th rfts. of 5th Btn.; joined unit in Egypt; to France 29.3.16; Lewis Gun Section of Btn. in July; wounded 6th November and sent to hospital; rejoined January 1917.
On 2nd March 1917, at Thilloy, he was killed in action while firing his Lewis gun, repelling an attack.
