Enlisting 1st October, 1916, and sailing in November, served with 10th and 9th Australian Field Ambulances in 1917, as R.M.O. 3rd Machine Gun Battn. from February to November, 1918, and as relieving R.M.O. 38th and 39th Battns. and 3rd Pioneers until demobilisation. Early education at Toowoomba Grammar School.
