16.12.14, 2/Lt. 8th Btn. rfts.; sailed 2.2.15; was at Anzac landing; wounded twice on Gallipoli, and once invalided to Egypt for illness, but was present at the evacuation; Lieut. 4.8.15; T Capt. 19.11.15; Capt. 20.2.16. Was specially commended for his work at Cape Helles and at Pozieres.
On 24th July 1916, while making observations, he was fatally hit, and died before reaching the dressing station.
