M.M., Pharmacy: Gunner, n th Battery A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 20th June, 1916, when 18, and sailing 30th September, served at Flers as driver and at La Boiselle as gunner. After Bapaume joined batty, signallers and remained with them until demobilisation, except when attached to n th Battn. at Bullecourt and to 24th Battn. at Mont St. Quentin where wounded 2nd September, 1918, and evacuated to hospital, rejoining unit on 30th. Awarded M.M. 18th July, 1917, for work at Bullecourt. Early education at St. Stanislaus' College, Bathurst, and Sydney Grammar School.
