B.A. : Sergeant, 25th Battery, A.F.A., France. Enlisting 12th September, 1916, and sailing n th May, 1917, with n th Reinforcements 5th Divisional Ammunition Column, served with 6th Artillery Brigade, from 21st September. Then was with 7th Brigade from 31st October, and attached to A.I.F.H.Q. from 3rd April, 1919, until demobilisation. Promoted extra-regimental sergeant, 1st May, 1919. Early education at Bathurst District School. Later at Teachers'' College.
