Book of Remembrance entry
Dent. II : Captain, 13th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting in August, 1914, proceeded at once to Rabaul, returning in March, 1915. Re-Enlisting with 8th Reinforcements, fought at Gallipoli till the Evacuation and crossed to France, serving at Fleurbaix and Pozieres till death. Promoted lieutenant, 20th January, 1916, and captain, 1st March. Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action, Mouquet Farm, 14th August, 1916. Commemorated in Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
